Book review: The Value of Money

Between 1950 and the coming of the Euro, northern Europe both put more priority on, and had much more success in, controlling inflation and preserving the value of their currencies than the southern states. A new book, “The Value of Money”, explores why this is so and what it means for the ECB as it straddles the divide and tries to provide a common monetary policy for the whole Eurozone.
